Fortress Metal Detectors use a robust rectangular head to scan products transported through the aperture through a conveyor belt in food processing and packaging applications. They have a complete all-in-one detection solution with an integrated Vector Conveyor system for easy installation and maximizing system performance. Standard detectors are available in a wide range of aperture sizes. They can be made to order with various construction options, including painted aluminum, stainless steel, and BSH extra-rugged casing.

LARGE BAG

For dry products in 50-110lb bags (25-50 kg)

Fortress Large Metal Bag Detectors are perfect for larger products between 50-100 lb (25-50 kg). Popularly known as the “Big Bag King,” the system can detect 2.0 mm stainless steel in most bulk packs – an industry-leading sensitivity level! The Large Bag system attained this production performance level thanks to its specialized coil structure and advanced electronics. It is the only system in the world that uses a unique RF (radio frequency) noise reduction modification, dramatically reducing the detector’s susceptibility to RF interference.

FREEFALL – BULK

For loose freefalling products such as powders and grains

Gravity metal detectors are ideal for incorporating into existing systems where bulk products, such as flour, rice and cereal, are free falling. The product under test is gravity-fed through a pipe system and travels through the detector’s aperture. Gravity systems typically include an automatic reject system for removing contaminated products from the flow, ensuring that only the highest quality products are packaged for distribution.

FREEFALL – PACKAGED

For freefalling products before packaging

The Vertex system services retail products packaged in pouches or bags, such as chips and frozen vegetables. The slim Vertex can be installed in spaces with limited height and is used before final packaging. Users can place the unit below a Multi-head weigher or integrate it with a Vertical Form Fill Seal machine for optimum performance. The wired remote-control panel can be mounted in a more accessible area, so operating it is effortless. Vertex is the best-suited solution for applications where packaging is metallic or too large for standard detectors.

PIPELINE

For products typically pumped through pipes

Pipeline systems are used for unpackaged items conveyed through a pipe’s production process. Due to the wet product application, we’ve equipped Pipeline metal detectors with BSH Rugged Casing and Stainless Steel construction for IP69K certified protection, which ensures products maintain their quality while maintaining a safe operating environment. Generally, pipeline systems are inserted into existing process lines at the last possible point. In most cases, these products are made of pumped liquids and pastes; however, other applications like sausage meat can use the same principles.

VENT TUBE

For filled plastic and glass bottles

Vent Tube detectors are ideally suited for integrating into existing bottling lines to detect filler vent tubes. They’re positioned on the outfeed of a bottle processing or filler machine with easy interfacing to line controls and inspection systems. The system can be linked to the current fill level and monitoring equipment to detect a vent tube nozzle within the product accurately.
